It has been quiet around notalltogether. Partly because there is a baby in my belly, causing the expected “morning” sickness in the afternoons and late, late into the night. And partly because I have been dealing with some pregnancy complications that have me wavering between peace and fear.
My doctor informed me about two weeks ago that I have a blood clot between my uterus and the gestational sac, which could potentially terminate the pregnancy. Strict orders of no picking up heavy things (Owen), no exercise, and even no pushing heavy things (again, Owen) in the stroller until the issue resolves.
What does this mean for a mostly stay-at-home mommy? Well, it means I can’t put Owen into or get him out of his crib. No lifting him into his highchair. No bathing my child. No putting him in his carseat…thus no going anywhere, just the two of us. I need another adult with me to help us live our lives. Is it worth it? Yes. Is it hard? Ummm, yes. My mother-in-law came and helped us this week (hallelujah!!). And at work today, I had lots of help pushing my patients around the facility (as adults in wheelchairs are heavier than my 30-pound kiddo).
I am praying and hopeful that my body has turned a corner in the fight against the blood clot, but it is still a wait-and-see situation. We would love your prayers (and your continued prayers for those who have been praying with us already).
On a related note, we do not have a nickname for this baby yet. Owen was Sweet Baby J from the beginning, but I am coming up short this time around. Suggestions welcome!
Ande’s on bath duty for now. Here’s the proof that with a jet-powered tub (at my parents’), a little bit of bubbles goes a long way.

Wagon time with Grandma. Ride to the mailbox, then kick back and read the mail

I am cracking up at that picture of Ande and Owen!!! Its a little scandy…
I got some hours at my old job, but I would love to come help you out. Do you need a fab and hot cleaning lady?? I come with my own little apron!
Hey! Let me know if I can help, I’m more than willing and have plenty of time. Only thing is, I’m included with 2 additional children, but I’m totally up for caring for 3!!! Anything you need, I’m there!
I know I can’t do much, but let me know if there is something we can do for you. If you need a run to the grocery store, etc…just let me know. We are praying for you guys!
It was sweet to speak with Owen today–and I’m glad that he still likes my “Good Morning” song. My plan worked! I’ve sung that song so many times to him that it’s not normal if I don’t sing it–I was glad he asked for it. Of course Daddy B still gets top billing. When you told us that he picks up the phone in your bedroom and right away says, ‘hello, Daddy B” ? Probably because he likes to take them ‘exploring’. I’m glad you are doing and feeling better. I have set a goal to pray especially for the new life in you everyday–so as soon as my eyes pop open and before my feet hit the floor, I start praying. If not, I get distracted and it is a while before I get to it. Call me when you need/want me to come down to help with Owen. Loved the pic of them in the tub ;0 Love,MOM
So sorry to hear about the complication with your pregnancy – I was on moderate rest when I was pregnant with Dennis – it was hard for me then- and I didn’t have any other children. I only have Harrison on M,W,and F mornings. I would be happy to take you guys to the park or run errands – we’re doing it anyway. It would be easy to do – we already have the car equipped with a carseat that would accommodate him. Please feel free to call me if you need to get out (407-405-7325). Harrison would love a new friend! Nancy
Great picture of Ande and Owen. Just thought I would chime in on the nickname. This is a name that my cousin got called a lot when he was a little tike and I still think it is cute and it could apply…J Bird. Okay, it might not be your cup of tea, but I like it and thought I would share.
We miss you guys. Hope the Johnson family is doing well.
Hey, I kinda like “sweet baby joy”…….we are joyful over this baby and the Bible says…..joy comes in the morning.
I meant—-and the Bible tells us….joy comes in the morning…I was so distracted by trying to remember the first part of that Bible verse,,,I bet Ande remembers it. Hey, it is 4:30 am and I’m sick and having trouble sleeping :(. Glad ya’ll are doing better though.
In my random burst of uncreativity, I googled some baby nicknames. Found a few that would just be fabulous for you!
Baby Boo Boo
Baby Dumpling
Baby Tootsie
Baby Twinkles
And my favorites: Baby Warrior and Baby Bean Bean.
You do the choosing, but I’m laying out my cards!
